About The Designer
My name is Aidan Loughran and I am a student residing in the North East of England.
The Website Side
I created my first website in 2006 and have since gone from strength to strength in terms of knowledge and ability. I now feel as though I am fully competent and able to provide a solution that meets the needs of the client.
As of late I have began using content management systems and creating themes for WordPress. People immediately think that WordPress is purely a blogging platform, but it can be used for much more than that. It’s a fantastic platform to use for people to use who want to update their site regularly.
I have created two websites as of late, one for a holiday apartment and another for a childminding business. At the moment I am working on another project which I am pleased to be a part of. More details of that will follow after the project is completed.
The Personal Aspect
Anyway, moving away from web design and onto me… I am quite an academic person who is always striving to achieve the best possible and squeezing every ounce of ability out of myself. I like to push myself to my limits to ensure the best possible outcome in everything I do.
I have a huge passion in Middlesbrough Football Club and follow them avidly. I own a season ticket and always look forward to the beginning of the new season, even if I don’t feel confident about it.
As well as MFC, I am also interested in photography and have a decent set up. I have a Canon EOS 400D with various extras including lenses and a tripod etc. I have had this for about a year now and thoroughly enjoy using it. I like taking all sorts of photos, especially ones of football matches though.
I blog on one of the local communities Gazette websites and from time to time my blog articles are printed in the local postcode paper and sometimes in the main Gazette which is distributed all over Teesside.
I am also in a relationship with my fantastic girlfriend, Lucy who I love so much. We’ve been together for what will be coming up to a year soon and I couldn’t be happier.
The System
In terms of my system that I use to do my web design I believe that it is a decently powerful system and it deals easily with all of the photo editing and website creation that I do. It has recently been updated from my old Pentium 4 machine and now I have a Dell Vostro 400 with an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.40GHz processor, 3GB RAM, ATi Radeon X800GT graphics card, a 19” widescreen monitor and 1TB worth of hard drive space. It currently has Windows Vista Home Premium on it, however, I would like to get Ubuntu on to it to dual boot with Vista. I had Ubuntu on my old computer and look forward to getting it on my new system.
