You're interested I see...

Well, here you are, at the 'about me' page.

So... What about me? Well...

  • I'm from Middlesbrough
  • Love Middlesbrough Football
  • Web Designer, or so I like to call myself
  • Photographer, amateur, but still quite enthusiastic nonetheless
  • A Goalkeeper
  • Keen on technology
  • Photography

I use Flickr to store my photos and to display them, but I would rather have my own personal portfolio - which I intend on setting up sometime in the future. Until I get that up and running I may as well tell you about what I like taking photographs of. Obviously I can't do everything with the lenses that I have, but I make do with what I have got. Afterall, photography is a very expensive business!

  • Nature - I find that animals and flowers can make great photographs, especially animals as they can certainly bring the photograph to life and add character to it. Yet flowers can bring out great colours hence why I like taking pictures of them.

  • Landscapes - I haven't had much chance to take many photographs of landscapes, nor have I had much of a chance to take many photographs of animals seeing as I have only recently bought my 400D. I like brining out the colours of the grass in landscapes shots, as well as the sky, you can capture some great colours! Often a monochrome effect can add great character to the photograph bringing out the mood in it.

  • Macro Shots - I don't know why, but I just enjoy taking them, it seems a bit of an odd reason I know!
  • Football - I go to as many local non-league football games as possible (during the months with lighter afternoons!) and they usually end up on my Flickr account.
  • Web Design...

I took to web design when I created my first ever site for a childminder. It was only in tables mind, no CSS or anything. Since I created it, along with my brother in 2005 I think it was, I have enjoyed creating websites eversince. Now I create all of my sites in CSS as opposed to tables.

    Football...

For around 6 years now I have supported my local team Middlesbrough FC. I have always been interested in them, but never supported them as avidly as I do now. In the season 06/07 I got my first season ticket as a slightly early Christmas present from my brother. I had been planning on buying one that Christmas actually, but he bought it for me a few games before the Christmas period. I have a season ticket for this season, 07-08 and intend on purchasing one for next season too.

    Magical Moments...

There have certainly been a few magic moments in the time that I have supported Middlesbrough. There a few which stick out in my mind, one being the League Cup win in 2004. It was our first major trophy in our history, which was 128 years!
As well as that the Uefa Cup Quarter Final comes to mind against Basel (06/07 season). We were 1-0 down from the first leg and had to beat them over here. They took the lead making it 2-0 to Basel on aggregate meaning Middlesbrough had to score 4 goals... It sounds impossible but it wasn't! We did it in the 89th minute with a near post effort from Italian Striker Massimo Maccarone.

The third magical moment which comes to mind is the Uefa Cup Semi Final against Steaua Bucharesti(06/07 season). We were down 1-0 from the first leg and again had to beat them at the Riverside. They took a 2 goal lead making it 3-0 on aggregate, people thought that lightening couldn't strike twice... but it did! Middlesbrough came back to win 4-3 with very very very late header from Massimo Maccarone.

If you weren't at both games you won't be able to fully appreciate what I am about to say. The atmosphere was electric; I have never, ever experienced one like it. The backing of the team was just fantastic; I have never heard such a roar from 24,000 people (against Basel). We had a full house against Steaua Bucharest, but it was still one heck of an atmosphere. When I think and talk about those two nights it shivers down my spine, I even get shivers when watching videos of it!

That's all for now folks, but I am sure that I will be back to update it soon enough!
